23 THINGS TO REMEMBER BEFORE TURNING 23

23 BIRTHDAY

Hi fam!

In honor of my 23rd Birthday #JordanYear, I am listing 23 things every 23-year-old needs to hear.

Honestly, I really think turning 23 is the new 21 because you are most likely in a place of your life where you have a lot of freedom. You have graduated college or are about to graduate and start adulting full time. But with freedom, comes responsibility. Nevertheless here are 23 things to always remember.

1. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF:

Eat right, drink more water, be active and keep up with your regular Dr. Visits. You want to treat your body with respect, so put good in to get good out.

2. MANAGE YOUR MONEY:

Keep at least $500 in your saving for emergencies. Pay your bills on time, get rid of your student loan debt and learn to build credit. All in all be a smart spender.

3. BE FEARLESS:

Live life to the fullest, no more regrets and wishing you could go back in time to redo something.

4. BE INDEPENDENT:

You do not need a man to complete you. Be an independent girl boss!

5. CONTINUOUSLY GROW YOUR EDUCATION:

Read more, watch the news, or follow a new station on Twitter (baby steps). LEARN FROM PEOPLE and their experiences! Be current with what is happening in the world.

6. #SORRYNOTSORRY:

Stop apologizing for who you are, forget about what people think of you and be just be PROUD to be yourself.

7. STOP THE GRUDGES:

Grow up and start being the bigger person and move on. Don’t let something small ruin a relationship you have with someone.

8. QUIT WORRYING:

You are meant to face every challenge God throws your way. Everything that has happened to you was to lead you where you are today and has helped shaped you into the person you are.

9. FAMILY:

Family is the most important thing that has ever been given to you. Whether you have a good relationship or bad, you should always find a way to love & forgive them.

10. BE HAPPY:

Why do/put up with something if it doesn’t make you happy? Do something daily that will lift your mood and bring a smile to your face.

11. TRAVEL:

Things are good but experiences are better plus they turn into pretty cool memories. Get out there and travel the world before life ties.

12. LOVE MORE:

The world has too much hate, spread love, the greatest of all things.

13. SLOW DOWN:

We are always in such a hurry to grow up. If I could go back to the simple kindergarten life in the 90’s taking naps I so would because who really enjoys adulating? Live day by day, and stop wishing for the day when you will, graduate, get married, have a family… chances are your gonna miss your early 20’s.

14. #TREATYOSELF:

Celebrate little victories!

15. EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON:

Sometimes sh*t happens but it was meant to help you. When God closes one door he opens another! It is not the end of the world YOU CAN GET THROUGH THE BAD!

16. IT’S OK TO BE LOST:

Your 20’s are a magical time where you are still discovering yourself. You don’t have to have your life figured all out before a certain age.

17. YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO HAVE YOUR DREAM JOB THIS EARLY ON:

It’s ok to job hop, you are still discovering who you are and what you want to do for the rest of your life.

18. IT’S OK TO FAIL:

Failure is part of the learning process. Don’t beat yourself up too much.

19. QUIT BEING YOUR BIGGEST CRITIQUE:

Stop comparing yourself to others. You are who you are and you are BEAUTIFUL!

20: WORK HARD:

Things will not be handed to you, work hard, practice, and give everything 110%!

21: SOMEONE IS GOING TO LOVE YOU:

If your single as a Pringle have patience. I know its hard but God has someone great for you.

22: BE THANKFUL & DO SOMETHING GOOD:

Be grateful for what God has blessed you with, someone may have it way worse. Never assume what people are going through you have no idea what they could be struggling with. You can be thankful for what you have and help others through their struggles. Always remember to give back and help those in need.

23: THERE IS STILL TIME:

It’s your 20’s you have time to reach your dreams!
