TRAVEL DIARIES: MY VONLANE EXPERIENCE

I have been dying to write about this so here it finally is!!

Recently I was able to take a weekend trip to visit my wonderful friends in Dallas. Instead of driving myself on a Friday afternoon, I decided to spare myself the three and a half hour fight with traffic and take a Vonlane bus instead. I know what you might be thinking A BUS?! Let me explain this bus is not like your normal charter bus, Vonlane is a luxury bus. In fact, as their slogan say’s it best; it’s a “private jet on wheels”.

Vonlane

THE BUS

Vonlane is a motor coach company that provides luxury rides to and from all day long to major Texas cities like Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin. Unlike normal charter bus companies that cram their passengers in like sardines, Vonlane does not. Vonlane’s luxury buses contain only 16 premium class seats or 6 seats around tables in a closed-door conference section. The cool part is you get to actually pick your seat when you book your ride! So you can have a seat to yourself in the single seat section, sit next to someone in the double seated section, or sit in the conference room section (depending on what’s not already taken).

That’s not even half of it. Let me break it down to you of all the Vonlane greatness I experienced. As soon as I stepped foot on the bus I was greeted by a lovely stewardess who checked me in and directed me to my seat. The bus was very clean and had a pleasant smell of new car leather; mmmmmmm the smell of ridin fancy lol!

Now the seats are pure comfy leather heaven (which would explain the amazing leather smell)!! Have you ever been to a movie theater that had big comfy leather seats? Well, I guarantee you these seats are way better! You could recline them back, and pop up a footrest with all the wonderful leg room (short people perks, but it was still roomy for you long-legged folks).

On the seats was a menu of amenities they offered and a cold water bottle. Let me tell you they offer everything!! Forgot headphones, no problem they have noise canceling ones you can use! Get cold, they have blankets! Forgot your laptop charger, no biggie they got you covered from flash drives to shoe shine. This bus literally has it all.

Now you’re probably wondering how the food was. It looked good but I couldn’t have it due to my MANY allergies (another blog coming soon). Depending on the time of your trip determines if it is a “meal” trip. On my departure, since I left in the afternoon it was not a meal trip, but they did serve snacks and even passed out warm cookies!

THE RIDE

The ride was smooth, relaxing and right on time! The pickup and drop off locations are at certain hotels in the cities of Houston, San Antonio, Dallas, and Austin so you don’t have to worry about a sketchy bus stop + this makes for an easy access if you have friends/fam picking you up or an Uber/Lyft.

All in all, I had a great experience traveling with Vonlane and it’s one of my favorite ways to travel to Dallas to visit my besties!

Love Always,

Alex
